Support our work
Help us prove it — then help us give it away.
We are building a regenerative model of marine farming that works for the environment, the community and the people who do the work. Your support helps us prove it can be done — and helps us share the methodology so other coastal communities can build their own.
What your support builds
Seafarming Australia is the not-for-profit foundation behind the work. Together with our operating company, Bruny Island Seafarms Pty Ltd, we are a Tasmanian social enterprise demonstrating that integrated multi-trophic aquaculture can sustain regional jobs, restore marine ecosystems, and be replicated by co-operatives, fisher groups and family farms across coastal Tasmania.
We are aiming to raise $250,000 to $300,000 over our first two years. That figure is deliberately modest, and every part of it is tied to work that moves the model from two pilot sites to something another community can pick up and run.
We are actively seeking partners, supporters and investors who share our values. There are three ways to get involved.
The two-year raise
What it funds:
- Operating costs across our two pilot sites
- Salaries that keep the team on this full-time
- Development of the open-source IMTA Toolkit
- Establishment of the Seafarming Australia foundation
- Documentation and monitoring so others can follow the model
Three ways to support us
Invest, donate, or partner.
Invest in the operating company
We welcome ethical investment from environmentally conscious individuals, family offices, impact investors and mission-aligned funds.
Investment goes into our operating company, Bruny Island Seafarms Pty Ltd, which has three founder-shareholders. We are open to bringing investors into the cap table on terms that align with the foundation's long-term regenerative mission.
If you would like to explore it, ask us for our strategic brief and financial model and we can have a serious conversation.
Make a donation
Contributions of any size fund the work that grants, investment and crowdfunding don't reach — particularly our methodology development, community engagement, and IMTA Toolkit work.
To donate now, contact us and we will provide bank details. From mid-2027 a direct donation portal will be available here on this site.
Partnership, sponsorship & in-kind support
If you are a Tasmanian business, philanthropic foundation, research institution, government agency or industry operator who could partner with us on grants, in-kind support, methodology development, processing infrastructure or workforce development, we want to hear from you.
We are particularly interested in the four areas listed below.
Partnerships we are actively looking for
Partnerships across the Channel area.
With Hobart restaurants and food retailers.
In monitoring and yield validation.
For foundation funding and the IMTA Toolkit.
Whichever route suits you, this is where to start the conversation.
A note on tax-deductibility
Seafarming Australia is currently being established with assistance from Ashurst Lawyers, and is applying for DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) endorsement, which we expect to receive by mid-2027.
Until then, donations are not tax-deductible. Many of our supporters give regardless — your contribution funds the work directly either way.
What we look for in our partners
We are deliberate about who we work with. We welcome investment, partnership and support from parties who share our regenerative mission and our long-term outlook.
We are an apolitical venture, and we do not accept support that compromises our environmental commitments or the open-source nature of our methodology.
Thank you
Every supporter helps prove the model can work.
This is a long-term project to clean up our waterways, support rural employment and create sustainable food supplies. The foundation that will eventually support replicator farms across Tasmania is still being established. Every supporter, at any level, is helping prove the model can work, and helping us pass on what we learn.
