Who we work with

Research, industry and government, alongside us.

Regenerative aquaculture only works if the science, the industry and the regulator move together. These are the organisations we hold working relationships with.

Seafarming Australia has working relationships with Blue Economy CRC, CSIRO, FRDC, IMAS, the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government.

Governance

A structure built to protect the mission as it scales.

Seafarming Australia is the charitable foundation (a company limited by guarantee); Bruny Island Seafarms Pty Ltd is the operating company. The foundation holds the mission and, under our preferred design, owns the brand and foundational IMTA intellectual property — licensing them to the operating company in return for royalties, revocable if regenerative-practice obligations are breached. The two are further linked by a services agreement and an MoU. There is no cross-shareholding.

This means funders can support the mission with confidence that it's structurally protected, and ethical investors can back a genuine business — without the two purposes pulling against each other. A tiered profit contribution flows from the company to the foundation and marine conservation as the business scales, rising from 5% to 50%. We welcome mission-aligned, ethical investment alongside a non-dilutive base, structured to preserve founder control and the foundation's protections.
