Get involved

Join the skills & supporter register.

Our aim is for regenerative seafarms built by communities and local businesses. Tell us how you would like to be involved and what you would bring — and we will be in touch as real opportunities come up.

Why the register exists

To build a community of helpers to turn the initiative into a reality

Projects like this move in bursts — an onsite working bee, a maintenance run, a school visit, a grant application with a deadline. Keeping a standing register means that when those moments arrive we can call on the right people quickly and keep things moving forward, in the right direction.

On the water

Working bees, seafarm line maintenance and seedline deployment days in the Channel. Boat and dive tickets are useful, but plenty of jobs need none of them. Aquaculture experience is a bonus.

Skills & professions

Trades, marine science, engineering, grant writing, accounting, education, comms. Regenerative aquaculture needs far more than farmers.

Community & funding

Open days, school visits, and introductions to funders or partners who could help the next farm get in the water.

Seafarming Australia

Since our work in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel started taking shape, we've had a steady stream of offers of help from all parts of the community. From people who live locally, from those with trades, tickets and time to give, and from researchers and industry specialists.

We appreciate every one of those offers and we take them seriously. That means being organised about it rather than ad hoc.

This register is how we do that. Tell us what you can offer and roughly when you're available, and we'll come to you as something specific to your experience, knowledge or enthuisasm comes up. It takes a minute to fill in and joining doesn't commit you to anything.

Think of it as a first step towards a proper conversation when the time is right for you. In the meantime you'll hear from us regularly through our website updates.

This simply helps us understand who is close enough to join us on site.
